Cougar Line water transfers

Based in Picton at the top of the South Island, Cougar Line provides Marlborough Sounds water transport around Queen Charlotte Sound/Tōtaranui.

Whether you're heading out to walk or bike the Queen Charlotte Track, going to a lodge or private holiday home, or just out for a cruise, we'll get you and your gear where you need to go, on time, in one piece and with a smile.

Pelorus Mail Boat cruises

The Pelorus Mail Boat has been delivering mail by water to the residents of the Pelorus Sound/Te Hoiere in the Marlborough Sounds, at the top of New Zealand’s South Island, since 1918.

Join a day cruise on the mail run and meet local residents, learn the history of Pelorus Sound, spot plentiful wildlife and enjoy our beautiful and unique part of the world.

Punga Cove

Set amongst stunning scenery in the magnificent Marlborough Sounds, Punga Cove is the perfect retreat, surrounded by nature. Choose from our stylish suites, spacious studios and retro chalets or our larger apartments for families and groups. Our basic rooms cater for those on a budget.

Furneaux Lodge

Wilderness Guides

Located at the top of the South Island, and it is accessible by boat from Picton to its beginning at the scenic and historic reserve of Ship Cove in Queen Charlotte Sound.
